Rota do Atlântico

Along Rota do Atlântico, the travel time between Recife and the beaches of Pernambuco's Southern coast is reduced by 20 minutes.Rota do Atlântico is responsible for the expansion and modernization of the roads located in the port and industrial region of Pernambuco. It also represents a faster, safer and more comfortable alternative for those who drive along the beaches of the state's Southern coast.

With the requalification of the streets and construction of new stretches, the distance between Recife and the region's beaches, including Porto de Galinhas, will be reduced by 8.4 kilometers compared to the course when driving along the PE-60 Highway. Drivers will save at least approximately 20 minutes.

Users of the stretch covered by the concession also received medical and mechanical services. Surveillance cameras distributed along the highway offer an general view of the entire road system to ensure driver safety.

During the 35-year concession, a total of R$ 450 million will be invested for the requalification, operation, monitoring and conservation of the stretch, approximately R$ 270 million of which was applied during the construction work period. Of the 44 km that are part of the concession, 30 are already operating – connecting the South BR-101 in Cabo de Santo Agostinho to the PE-038 Highway in the district of Nossa Senhora do Ó in Ipojuca. In 2014, drivers will be able to access Ilha de Cocaia, where the Naval Center is located.
